Election Results - 2009

It is became a habit for us, for reverse-engineering the results of an election and trying to find the reasons.

I'm dare enough to write that.. even TDP or PRP won, enough reasons would have popped up stating the victory reasons.

But, nobody believed that these two will come alone to power. It is because of the positive vote and swing and stable governance, which everyone wanted... and hence Congress won.

Congress, in some aspects deserve this victory. To summarize a few
1. Clear cut stand on Telangana - (They said not now, but in future.. for now we will focus in development)
2. No luring promises (This has increased the credibility of the government)
3. Welfare schemes (To remind, this government has continued all schemes, without any exceptions or excuses unlike previous ones)
4. Common man is vexed with the high drama done by party leaders, who even don't have 5 MP seats.. dictating terms at the Parliament. Hence, this swing also helped Congress.

I think these are the four reasons and important reasons why congress deserve the victory.

I don't mean that congress is the ultimate party or the best party... There are still somethings which I personally didn't liked about it.

1. Starting 71 projects even finishing a single project (currentlly 17 are finished)
2. Arogya sri - This would have been far better by providing enough boost up to Govt. Hospitals.
3. Centralization of Development : CBN all started this crap, and YS continued it. Even today, a graduate who finishes his masters or bachelors... from Vijayawada, Eluru, Kakinada, Anakapalle, Tanuku, Cuddapah, Rajampet, Ongole, Warangal, Siricilla, Mehboobnagar, Echcherla, Nijamabad, Kodad... .... end up in catching BUS with same name plate ---- HYDERABAD !!!
This should be changed.. decentralization should be done...

Except the above mentioned 3, rest all are negligible, and the opposition parties TDP and PRP tried to make a noise by stating each and every act done by government as WASTE. Hence, these parties credibility got tested. CBN s credibility also tested with the Money transfer scheme... and he failed.

Finally, Congress not only provided reasonable governance, but also played the game aggressively when needed.... may it be
1. Getting a news paper and channel for them to fight directly against biased media.
2. Using local leaders and groups and money and power to forcefully get that additional vote.

All the best to Sri Y S Rajasekhara Reddy garu, our honorable chief minister, for his tenure.

May God give him enough health and strengh to implement people welfare based schemes than vote bank related things.

May our respectable oppositions try to reduce their noise, and do constructive criticism.

May we don't witness unnecessary bundhs, and Road Blockages, and Railway lane interruptions.. which will cause a lot of irritation to public.

Congratulations for both Jayaprakash narayan and Chiranjeevi garu for entering Assembly for first time... may Chiranjeevi bring CHANGE atleast now... with new manner of politics.

My predictions : 2009 General elections AP

I have been observing the polls very close and the trend for past 1 year.

I have taken the following points into consideration when putting these.

1. Natural supporters of a party
2. Canditates' History
3. Rebels/Multi-face contests
4. Poll percentage.
5. Following news in all media.
6. Chiru Charishma

Praja Rajyam : This party is promising to deliver some surprises for sure... majority share of the increased poll percentage... definitely got polled to this debutant...

84 seats should be attained by this party.
Telangana - 12
Uttarandhra - 15
East & West - 22
R O Coastal - 17
Rayalaseema - 15

Congress : I can clearly see this government is one of the governments which went to poll with less percentage of anti-government votes. Did good job except for the projects and scheme beneficiaries are not totally covered.

77 seats should be won by INC..

Telangana - 27
Uttarandhra - 9
East & West - 4
R O Coastal - 19
Rayalaseema - 21

Mahakutami : Did very good in Telengana region.. thanks to TG sentiment... should end up in same number of seats as they got in 2004.

LOK SATTA factor : I'm afraid LOKSATTA may play a spoil sport with PRP winning chances.... atleast 20 - 25 constituencies... PRP may loose just because of votes split by LOK SATTA... and those will be credited to either INC or TDP..

My Predictions.....

PRP : 74 - 90
INC : 97 - 107
TDP : 80 - 94

Wish to see Praja Rajyam... making its presence in the polls....

reading that point itself.. I can't stop laughing...

if at all it happens... I will loose faith in elections....

Curious Constituencies

Aaaah... Its been some time.. since I scribbled something here... ;-)

I want to put up the list of constituencies which I'm interested to see.... may be curious to many ...

1. Palakollu : Chiranjeevi contesting from his motherland, and opposition parties take it serious. Heard that 25 Crores were vested into this constituency by leading party... whew.... !!!! My Bet is on Chiranjeevi !!!!

2. Siricilla : Heard that KTR is struggling in this constituency... Have to see how much does the CHIRU factor fighted against TELANGANA factor.. KTR got the edge of course...

3. Kukatpally : JP is contesting from this constituency... PRP and Cong are giving tough fight... JP is not clearly leading because of traditional vote bank for Congress ... thanks to PJR is still there... letz see how it goes.. JP should win this with handy majority.

4.Kodad : Border between TG and Coastal.. interesting fight.. !!!! may be PRP win it by a nose...

5.Pitapuram : Mudragada Padmanabham and Meesala Geetha ... phew...fight with Varma... really a tough fight indeed.

6. Rajahmundry : Heard that PRP fans have taken the fight ahead.. than the canditate himself... should see if it really worked for Ravanam Swamy Naidu...

7. Jaggampet : Brothers fight here... may be Jyothula Nehru finish it.. or the split may advantage Congress.

8. Narasapuram : Kotthapalli Subba Rayudu contesting for first time other than cycle symbol... curious to see how the votes get transferred...

9. Tanuku : Tough fight.. between Sri Ramulu and Y T Raja.. and Nageswara Rao

10. Ungutur : Kotagiri takes on Vatti Vasant kumar... Vasant should have the edge.. but lemme tell you it is going to be very very close....

11. Eluru : HOTTEST... three big guns... Ambika Krishna, Alla Nani, and Badeti Bujji contesting.. interestingly.. all 3 have got alias names... :-)

12. Gudivada : Kodali Nani and Ravi Venkateswara rao and Pinnamaneni... sweat out in this constituency.... nerve breaking contest on cards...

13. Vijayawada.. E, C, W : Hhhhh... all three in the commercial capital are hot seats... PRP shows promise in West and Central... INC has effect on East and Central... TDP is poking at all three.... good contests !! and one of places where betting is very bigg.

14. Chilakaluripet : Chiranjeevi fans are in good number... but TDP holds this... should see how the tough competetion go..

15. Kovur : Tupakula Munemma is given a ticket and became a sensation... not sure if she gives good fight here... I will be pleasantly surprised if she wins...

16. Allagadda : Shobha Nagireddy... Gangula Pratapa Reddy and Iregala Rampulla Reddy fight in a close contest

17. Puttaparthi : First ever elections in this place. This is a newly formed constituency.... lets see who conquers this.

18. Chandragiri : Roja, Galla Arunakumari and Ramani Reddy fight in a unique battle... Love to see Roja loosing this.... (I hate her for the loose talk)

19. Guntur West : Kanna lakshmi narayana is tested by PRP and TDP folks..

20. Pathapatnam : tough fight here as well... Wish to see PRP win !!!

21. Tirupathi : Annayya should get the biggest majority here !!

22. Khairatabad : PJR factor will be tested and Lok Satta also tries to prove a point...

Darsi, Ongole, Chittor --- for miscellenous reasons ;-)
